The events we celebrate at Christmas are far bigger than we typically imagine. It is about far more than a story about Mary and Joseph, shepherds and wisemen, angels and a star. It is even bigger than just the story of the incarnation, though that in itself is remarkable. The events of Christmas are part of the larger story of God’s work to restore his ruined creation and bring blessing to all people. And what is truly remarkable is that God has invited us into that story — to experience his work of restoration in our own lives and then to live as agents of his redemptive work in this world — proclaiming and manifesting his blessing to all people.
