In this psalm we encounter part 2 of a two part introduction to the Psalter. Whereas Psalm 1 focused our attention on the choice between two ways that each individual faces, Psalm 2 takes a step back to help us see things from a cosmic, global perspective. What becomes clear is that human rebellion against I AM is both futile and foolish, and in the midst of words of warning, we discover a powerful and gracious invitation to surrender to God and thereby find refuge in Him.
