As we come to Revelation 12, we come to the theological centre of the apocalypse. Here Jesus pulls back the curtain to show his people the answer to the question, “Why are we suffering?” In the dramatic unfolding of this story about a woman, a dragon and the woman’s son, Jesus asserts that a cosmic battle has been fought and won, that the end is not in doubt, but that for a season until the final end comes, the people of God will face the raging of the defeated dragon.
