The first of the seven letters or messages is addressed to the church in Ephesus. Though there is much that is good in the life of this church, yet Jesus has vital words of correction that they must hear. The central quality and characteristic that is to identify them as his disciples is missing and must be restored. The message to this church is a vital message for every church through the ages and around the world.
