As followers of Jesus, both individually and corporately, we have a purpose — a mission — making Jesus known. Here we explore Jesus’ words spoken to his followers — you are the salt of the earth — you are the light of the world. This is not wishful thinking, nor a command. It is a statement of a fact — that through faith in Jesus we are being transformed — gospelized — and we live out our new identity before a watching world so that they might also come to know Jesus in whom we find new life.
