Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem draws to its close. This last leg of the journey, and his arrival in the capital city and temple, reveals to us a variety of responses to him. But what is most critical for us to note is Jesus’ response to those who have rejected him. What we witness is his deep passion that all would know the peace that is to be found in him alone! It is our recognition of this response of Jesus, that has the power to move us to respond, first to him in faith, but then second to those around us who do not yet know Jesus or the peace that will only be found through faith in him. As Jesus reminded us earlier in Luke 19, he has come to seek and to save the lost.
