At first glance, the point of this story seems obvious. We are to be thankful like the one man and not unthankful like the other nine. To be sure, gratitude is an appropriate response and we should be thankful, but there is more going on here than just a lesson on being more thankful. We must dig deeper and look more closely! And when we do, we will discover more — we will see Jesus, his great love and mercy lavished on us, and we will be moved to respond with gratitude and worship.
