While at dinner with a group who are socially and religiously among the “elite,” Jesus tells a fascinating story. As we put ourselves in the place of those sitting around the table with him on that occasion, we will find ourselves challenged. A life of discipleship radically upsets the norms of our culture and replaces them with new norms, norms of his kingdom. And when we submit ourselves to Jesus and his in-breaking kingdom, we will find ourselves transformed.
