In this passage we encounter an amazing encounter between Jesus and a woman who has been crippled over for 18 long years. Jesus’ sets her free from bondage to this condition pointing us to the heart of his mission — freedom. Though his work in his world and in our lives may not be what we had expected, and though it may at first seem small and insignificant, just wait. The kingdom of God breaks in what seem small and unexpected ways but its impact ultimately is enormous.
