Once more the theme of Jesus’ words are that of God’s coming judgment and the urgent need for repentance. Rather than “grading ourselves on a curve” when it comes to sin, every single person needs to recognize their own need for repentance. And even within this urgent call for repentance, there is a note of hope — there is yet time for God has been and remains patient, though the time will not last forever.
