In this passage we find two stories, one sandwiched in the middle of the other. In each, we encounter a person desperate for something they believe Jesus can provide. But in neither case, do things unfold as hoped — at least not initially. Each of these two people’s lives end up being radically changed by the touch of Jesus, and the same thing can happen for each of us — Jesus’ touch transforms everything.
