Luke 1:26-38
 "Called to the Impossible"

In this passage we meet a young teenager, Mary.  She is ordinary girl from an ordinary town called by God to do something impossible.  Though still a virgin, an angel tells her that she will conceive a son who is the long awaited "son of David."  Despite all the difficulties the task would mean for Mary, we see her surrender herself fully to the will of God.  Though a beautiful example for us, this text ultimately points us, not to Mary, but to God who called her.  He took the initiative.  He worked through her.  He sent Jesus who would surrendered himself fullly to the will of the Father in order to rescue us.
