In this story we see three young followers of Yahweh faced with an incredibly daunting situation. They are called to pledge their loyalty to a pagan king, his god and all that it means to be Babylonian or die by fire. Though for most of us, at least here in the west, finding ourselves in a similar circumstance seems unlikely. Nonetheless, there is still much in this story for us. Though it may look different, we all face the testing of our faith, and all of us can find confidence in our rescuing, saving God.
