This beautiful text about love is well known and well loved, as well it should be. Unfortunately it is often read without attention to its important context within the larger letter from Paul to the first century Christians of Corinth. Within its context, the significance of what Paul writes, deepens and is even more profound. Paul calls the Corinthians, and indeed us too, to live as followers of Christ filled and shaped by love, true love, love that is grounded in the eternal love of God himself.
