Here Jesus teaches his disciples to pray for the coming of God’s kingdom but what exactly does that mean? In this message we will explore the idea of kingdoms in general and the specifics of what God’s first-century people understood and were expecting when it came to the kingdom of God. We will also reflect on other kingdoms that stand as rivals to the kingdom of God. With each of these things delineated we will turn our attention to what it looks like to pray this prayer sincerely and honestly, in our own lives and in the world God has created.
