In this portion of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus broaches the topic of sex, illustrating how the gospel of the kingdom impacts the lives of his disciples in this area of human experience. Far from being prudish about sex, we discover in this message the goodness of this gift but also the important reasons for the boundaries God has placed around sex. Jesus calls us to take drastic measures to root sexual sin out of our lives, but we are also reminded of the drastic measures he went to, to bring us forgiveness and freedom.
