In this message we explore the passage that precedes Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount as we prepare to enter into our study of that famous sermon. Jesus has a lot to say to us but first, we need to get our bearings. To that end, we need to recognize how his coming fulfilled prophecy and then listen to what he proclaimed and demonstrated — the kingdom of heaven invading this world. This good news provides the crucial context for all that he will teach in the coming chapters of Matthew’s gospel.
