In the previous paragraph, Paul asserted that in the coming of Jesus, something has happened that changes everything! Though all of humanity stands guilty before the holy God against whom we have sinned, redemption has come through Jesus. Paul will tell us that Christ died in our place as a “sacrifice of atonement.” Here in these following verse Paul makes it clear that this redemption is not achieved by us but for us. And, Paul contends, it is appropriated, not by anything we do but by faith alone.
