These verses bring us face to face with a topic we do not want to think about — the wrath of God. Paul says that "the wrath of God being revealed.” What does that mean and why is this the case? In these verses Paul explains to readers the story of humanity’s rebellion against God and our sin, by three distinct steps; first, the suppression of truth; second, the rejection of God; and third, the replacement of God with idolatry. The consequence is the “revealing of God’s wrath,” however, there is good news and a way to be rescued from the wrath of God.
