There are various virtues that are to characterize the lives of Christians, and one of them is gratitude. We are reminded of that fact again, here in Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae. Christ has established peace between them and God and between them and one another. The message of his love and the atonement accomplished on the cross are radically good news for those whose faith is in Jesus, and now believers have the great joy and privilege of living the entirety of their lives for the glory of Christ. The result? Our lives increasingly radiating thankfulness to God in Christ before a watching world.
